Publications and presentations

All studies that lead to publication shall have the author stated as The BONE Collaborative. 

The individual authors will be then listed in the co-authors section, in order of contribution. This approach allows us to give credit to many more authors than a journal would normally have room to list. 

The recommended wording for listing collaborators is as follows:

"The BONE Collaborative group for this project comprised:

Protocol design: [Names in alphabetical order]

Writing committee: [Names in order of contribution]

Site investigators (alphabetically by centre):

Hospital Name (Location): [Names in alphabetical order]

Hospital Name (Location): [Names in alphabetical order]

Hospital Name (Location): [Names in alphabetical order]

National coordination facilitated by BONE.ac.uk"

For multi-centre projects, the lead study team (the team that design the study) may define a minimum level of involvement. For example, each contributing researcher from different units may need to submit a minimum number of patients in order for their contribution to be acknowledged.

Credit for contribution is to be acknowledged according to the ICMJE guidelines for authorship and collaborations.
